UK government sponsored research highlights traditional schooling shortcomings

The What Works? evidence for decision makers report published yesterday by the UK government casts doubt on the effectiveness of many assumptions that form the basis of the traditional school system. Assumptions shown to have little or even negative effect are uniforms, streaming, and repeating a year.
